Web Site Helps Fight Tree Cutting

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. -- An ongoing controversy surrounding tree-lined Cromwell Bridge Road in Baltimore County got more heated Thursday.
Residents in the area said they are outraged that Baltimore Gas and Electric is cutting trees outside their homes.
BGE has argued for months that the trees are too close to power lines and pose a safety hazard and must be cut.
Residents have been protesting what they called a "massacre of trees" in Patapsco State Park, Cromwell Valley and Gunpowder State Park.
Those against the cutting have created a Web site for people to protest and share their thoughts on the issues. The Web site is protectmarylandtrees.ning.com.
