Call a halt to the destruction of Maryland's green spaces

What's Happening in Cromwell Valley?

Hello to all,

As with all dealings with BGE, it's wait, wait, wait THEN hurry, hurry, hurry......so here we go:

The Environmental Impact Study has been completed by BGE consultants ERI/FSH. We anticipate receipt of the results early this week. We plan to hire John Davis to review and explain the contents of the study prior to the stakeholders meetings.

BGE has planned to meet with Elected Officials only on Friday, May 2, 2008 in Council Chambers and then have a subsequent meeting to include Community reps on Tues, May 6, 2008. With objection to the first meeting being voiced, I will be attending as guest of Councilman McIntire on May 2. Our Community work group will attend the second meeting on May 6th with all stakeholders. (BGE/Constellation, DEPRM, Public Works, SHA, DNR, Councilmen and Senators)

Our re-vegetation Committee has developed an extremely comprehensive mitigation plan to submit to BGE and County/State representatives which we plan to present at the May 6th meeting.

We have also finalized a letter to County Executive, Jim Smith, requesting a meeting to discuss these issues and to enlist his leadership in support of our efforts. We plan to deliver the letter prior to the May 2nd meeting. (Copy on request)

After May 6th, there will be an open community meeting to discuss the EIS and the outcome (if any) of the stakeholders meetings. Date to be announced.

As always, thanks for your support.
